2014年にCELTA資格を取得し英語を教え始めるまではロンドンの編集者だったJP。来日後は四年間インターナショナルスクールのヘッドティーチャーに従事。

Q1. Where Are You From? / 出身地
I'm from Newcastle, a large city in the north of the UK. It's famous for the Tyne Bridge, football, many historical places to visit, and the 12th Century castle where the city takes its name from.
イギリス北部にあるニューキャッスルという大きな町で生まれ育ちました。タイン橋や、サッカー、歴史的に有名な場所がいくつもあり、町の名前の由来である12世紀のお城で有名です。
Q2. What Were You Like As A Child? / どんな子供でしたか？
I was always singing, laughing and playing with my friends outdoors. I loved football, reading books and playing computer games. I was always drawing, making stories and recording funny things on cassette tapes for my friends.
いつも歌い、笑い、友達と外で遊んでいました。サッカー、読書、コンピューターゲームが大好きでした。いつも絵を描いては、物語を作り、友達のために面白いものをカセットテープに録音して遊んでいました。
Q3. What Jobs Have You Had In The Past? / これまでの職歴
Since graduating university, I've worked in music and book shops, but my favourite job before I discovered teaching was working at a book publisher in London where I was an editor. I had a chance to meet many famous writers and artists.
大学を卒業した後は、音楽と本の店で働いていました。先生として教えるようになる前に、一番好きだった職業は、ロンドンで編集として働いていた出版の仕事でした。著名な作家やアーティストに出会う機会をたくさんいただきました。
Q4. What Things Do You Love? / 好きなもの
Reading, music, writing songs, playing on my PlayStation, eating udon, hiking, going to the onsen and cycling. And of course: teaching!
読書、音楽、歌を書くこと、プレイ・ステーション、うどんを食べること、葉キング、温泉にいくこと、ハイキング、そしてもちろん：教えること！
Q5. What Do You Want Children To Learn? / こどもたちに身につけてもらいたいこと
I'd like all children to enjoy discovering new things and finding their potential. The two most important elements in learning are immersion and creativity: using the imagination and not being afraid to try out new things are vital to the learning process.
子供達には新しいことを探検すること、自分の可能性を見つけることを楽しんでもらいたいと願っています。学ぶ上で大切なことが二つあります。「身を浸すこと」そして「創造性」です。学ぶ過程で大切なことは、自分の想像力を使って新しいことを試すこと恐れないことです。

When you come to Hana House, you are going to have a great time! Whatever you decide to take part in, it will be a unique experience you won't find anywhere else. We want you to enjoy your time with us, meet new friends and teachers from around the world and become inquisitive, creative, and discover that each and every one of you have talents to explore. Let's do it together!
